The Wentzel-meeting 1996

The Wentzel meeting is a competition for some of the designs sold by Wentzels, one of the oldest hobby shops in Stockholm. It is usually held the first Sunday in June, in the afternoon/evening to avoid the worst winds. This year it was indeed almost indoor weather, and George Törnkvist could fly his tiny (pistachio size) all balsa Saab J21 Nocal without problems. Returning to the competition, the designs were divided into four classes. The Tummeliten is an all balsa rubber powered stick tractor, the other models are all rubber powered fuselage designs. Particulary attractive is the Fröjd, with its triangular fuselage and artistically shaped tail surfaces. The Tummeliten class was won by no other than Sigurd Isacsson (of Sunnanvind fame) who is still active on the vintage scene.
