About the model
An unusual model by Finnish model builder Ingvar Knif. The flight duration is around 20 seconds; high enough for the F4D class.
It was featured in the "official" Finnish flight magazine ILMAILU (dec/2012).
About the origial
An experimental aeroplane from 1911, designed by the famous pilot Louis Paulhan in collaboration with scientist Victor Tatin. It was displayed in the
1911 Salon de l'Aéronautique, and created great interest due to its unusual design and careful streamlining. The 50 hp Gnome engine
was buried in the fuselage, and drove the pusher propeller by means of a long tubular shaft. It was tested extensively, and achieved a speed of 150 km/h, quite fast
for its days.
